ਹੇ ਸੰਤ ਜਨੋ! ਹੁਣ ਸਾਰੇ ਪਾਸੇ ਸੁਖ ਹੋ ਗਿਆ ਹੈ ॥
O Saints, peace and tranquility now prevail everywhere.
ਪਾਰਬ੍ਰਹਮੁ ਪੂਰਨ ਪਰਮੇਸਰੁ ਰਵਿ ਰਹਿਆ ਸਭਨੀ ਜਾਈ ॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥

(ਸਾਰੇ ਪਾਸੇ ਮਾਇਆ ਦਾ ਪਰਦਾ ਹਟ ਗਿਆ ਹੈ) ਅਤੇ ਪਾਰਬ੍ਰਹਮ ਪੂਰਨ ਪਰਮੇਸਰੁ ਗੁਰ ਸਬਦੁ ਹੁਣ ਜਿਧਰ ਵੀ ਜਾ ਕੇ ਦੇਖਦਾ ਹਾਂ, ਓਥੇ ਹੀ ਆਪ ਪ੍ਰਕਾਸ਼ਮਾਨ ਹੋਈਆ ਦਿੱਖ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈ ॥
(The veil of Maya has been removed on all sides) and Paarbrahm, the Perfect Supreme Lord, through the Guru's Shabad, now wherever I go and look, right there He Himself is seen shining forth. ॥
ਧੁਰ ਕੀ ਬਾਣੀ ਆਈ ॥
dhur kee baanee aaiee ||
ਉਦੋਂ ਦਾ ਧੁਰ ਕੀ ਬਾਣੀ ਰੂਪ ਏਸਾ ਹੁਕਮ ਮਿਲਿਆ ਹੈ ॥
The Primal Source illuminated the heart with the Divine Word.
ਤਿਨਿ ਸਗਲੀ ਚਿੰਤ ਮਿਟਾਈ ॥
tin sagalee chi(n)t miTaiee ||
ਜਿਸ ਨੇ ਸਾਰੀਆਂ ਚਿੰਤਾਵਾਂ ਮਿਟਾ ਦਿੱਤੀਆਂ ਹਨ॥
The Divine Word has dissolved all my worries/anxities.
ਦਇਆਲ ਪੁਰਖ ਮਿਹਰਵਾਨਾ ॥
dhiaal purakh miharavaanaa ||
ਕਰਤਾ ਪੁਰਖ (ਹਮੇਸ਼ਾਂ ਹੀ) ਦਇਆਲੂ ਅਤੇ ਮਿਹਰਬਾਨ ਹੈ ॥
The Primal Source is profoundly compassionate and merciful.
ਹਰਿ ਨਾਨਕ ਸਾਚੁ ਵਖਾਨਾ ॥੨॥੧੩॥੭੭॥
har naanak saach vakhaanaa ||2||13||77||
ਹਰਿ ਨੇ ਨਾਨਕ ਨੂ ਏਹ ਸੱਚ ਵਿਖਾ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਹੈ।। (ਜਾਂ, ਨਾਨਕ ਨੇ ਪੂਰੇ ਸੱਚ ਦਾ ਵਿਖਿਆਨ ਕਰ ਅਸਲ ਹਰਿ ਪ੍ਰਗਟ ਕਰ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਹੈ) ॥
Nanak proclaims this Eternal Truth.

ਦਾਸ ਅਪਨੇ ਆਪਿ ਰਾਖੇ ॥
dhaas apane aap raakhe ||
ਘਟਿ ਘਟਿ ਸਬਦੁ ਸੁਭਾਖੇ ॥੧॥

ਦਿਨਸੁ ਰੈਨਿ ਸਾਸਿ ਸਾਸਿ ਸਮਾਲੀ ਪੂਰਨੁ ਸਭਨੀ ਥਾਈ ॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥

ਆਪਿ ਸਹਾਈ ਹੋਆ ॥

ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਪੂਰੇ ਭਾਣਾ ॥
satigur poore bhaanaa ||
(ਜੱਦ) ਪੂਰੇ ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਨੇ ਚਾਹਿਆ॥
The Eternal Truth has, through His grace, brought the mind into harmony with His Divine Will.
ਤਾ ਜਪਿਆ ਨਾਮੁ ਰਮਾਣਾ ॥
taa japiaa naam ramaanaa ||
ਤਾਂ ਓਹ (ਸਤਿ) ਨਾਮ ਮਿਲੀਆ ਜੋ ਸਰਬ ਚ ਰਮਿਆ ਹੋਈਆ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ (ਫਿਰ ਉਸ ਨੂ ਧਿਆਨ ਚ ਰੱਖ ਹਮੇਸ਼ਾ) ਉਸ ਨੂ ਜਪਿਆ ਹੈ ॥
Through His grace, the mind is able to meditate on the Name of the All-Pervading Divine.
ਗੋਬਿੰਦ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਧਾਰੀ ॥
gobi(n)dh kirapaa dhaaree ||
ਸ੍ਰਿਸ਼ਟੀ ਦੇ ਸਿਰਜਣਹਾਰ (ਕਰਤਾਰ) ਨੇ ਕ੍ਰਿਪਾ ਕੀਤੀ ॥
The Creator of the Universe (Kartar) showered His Grace.
ਪ੍ਰਭਿ ਰਾਖੀ ਪੈਜ ਹਮਾਰੀ ॥੧॥
prabh raakhee paij hamaaree ||1||
ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਨੇ ਮੇਰੀ ਇੱਜ਼ਤ (ਪੈਜ) ਰੱਖ ਲਈ ॥
God saved my honor.
ਹਰਿ ਕੇ ਚਰਨ ਸਦਾ ਸੁਖਦਾਈ ॥
har ke charan sadhaa sukhadhaiee ||
ਹਰੀ ਦੀ ਸ਼ਰਨ ਸਦਾ ਸੁੱਖ ਬਖਸ਼ਦੀ ਹੈ ॥
Taking refuge in the Divine always bestows peace.
ਜੋ ਇਛਹਿ ਸੋਈ ਫਲੁ ਪਾਵਹਿ ਬਿਰਥੀ ਆਸ ਨ ਜਾਈ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
jo ichheh soiee fal paaveh birathee aas na jaiee ||1|| rahaau ||
ਗੁਰਮੁਖ ਦੀਆਂ ਜੋ ਇੱਛਾਵਾਂ ਹੁੰਦੀਆਂ ਓਹਨਾ ਨੂੰ ਫਲ ਪੈਂਦਾ ਹੈ (ਭਾਵ ਇੱਛਿਆਵਾਂ ਪੂਰੀਆਂ ਹੁੰਦੀਆਂ ਹਨ ) ਅਤੇ ਉਹਨਾ ਦੀ ਕੋਈ ਆਸ ਖਾਲੀ ਨਹੀਂ ਜਾਂਦੀ ॥
The desires of the Gurmukhs bear fruit, and none of their hopes go in vain. Pause.
ਕ੍ਰਿਪਾ ਕਰੇ ਜਿਸੁ ਪ੍ਰਾਨਪਤਿ ਦਾਤਾ ਸੋਈ ਸੰਤੁ ਗੁਣ ਗਾਵੈ ॥
kirapaa kare jis praanapat dhaataa soiee sa(n)t gun gaavai ||
ਜਿਸ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਉੱਤੇ ਜਿੰਦ ਦਾ ਮਾਲਕ (ਪ੍ਰਾਨਪਤਿ) ਅਤੇ ਸਭ ਦਾਤਾਂ ਦੇਣ ਵਾਲਾ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ, ਉਹੀ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ (ਸੰਤੁ) ਦੇ ਗੁਣ ਗਾਉਂਦਾ ਹੈ ॥
Only he sings the praises of The Supreme Being (Saint), upon whom The Almighty—the Master of the life-breath and the Giver of all blessings—showers His Grace.
ਪ੍ਰੇਮ ਭਗਤਿ ਤਾ ਕਾ ਮਨੁ ਲੀਣਾ ਪਾਰਬ੍ਰਹਮ ਮਨਿ ਭਾਵੈ ॥੨॥
prem bhagat taa kaa man leenaa paarabraham man bhaavai ||2||
ਉਸ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਦਾ ਮਨ ਕਰਤਾਰ ਦੀ ਪ੍ਰੇਮ-ਭਗਤੀ ਵਿੱਚ ਲੀਨ (ਮਸਤ) ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ, ਉਸ ਦੇ ਮਨ ਨੂੰ ਕਰਤਾਰ ਦੀ ਸਿਫਤ ਸਲਾਹ ਚੰਗੀ ਲਗਦੀ ਹੈ ॥
The mind of that person becomes completely immersed in the loving devotion of The Divine, and praising The God becomes truly pleasing to his heart.
ਆਠ ਪਹਰ ਹਰਿ ਕਾ ਜਸੁ ਰਵਣਾ ਬਿਖੈ ਠਗਉਰੀ ਲਾਥੀ ॥
aaTh pahar har kaa jas ravanaa bikhai Thagauree laathee ||
ਹਰ ਵੇਲੇ ਕਰਤੇ ਦੀ ਸਿਫ਼ਤ-ਸਲਾਹ ਉਚਾਰਨ ਕਰਨ ਨਾਲ ਵਿਕਾਰਾਂ ਦੀ ਠੱਗ-ਬੂਟੀ (ਮਾਇਆ ਦਾ ਪ੍ਰਭਾਵ) ਉਤਰ ਜਾਂਦੀ ਹੈ ॥
By uttering the praises of The Divine at all times, the intoxicating potion of vices (the influence of worldly illusion) wears off.
ਸੰਗਿ ਮਿਲਾਇ ਲੀਆ ਮੇਰੈ ਕਰਤੈ ਸੰਤ ਸਾਧ ਭਏ ਸਾਥੀ ॥੩॥
sa(n)g milai leeaa merai karatai sa(n)t saadh bhe saathee ||3||
ਮੇਰੇ ਕਰਤਾਰ ਨੇ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਆਪਣੇ ਨਾਲ ਮਿਲਾ ਲਿਆ ਹੈ (ਆਪਣੀ ਸ਼ਰਨ ਵਿੱਚ ਲੈ ਲਿਆ ਹੈ) ਅਤੇ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਸੰਤ ਅਤੇ ਸਾਧ (ਗੁਰਮੁੱਖ) ਮੇਰੇ ਸਾਥੀ/ਗੁਰਭਾਈ ਬਣ ਗਏ ॥
My Creator has united me with Himself (has taken me into His sanctuary), and His saints and holy beings (Gurmukh) have become my companions/spiritual siblings.
ਕਰੁ ਗਹਿ ਲੀਨੇ ਸਰਬਸੁ ਦੀਨੇ ਆਪਹਿ ਆਪੁ ਮਿਲਾਇਆ ॥
kar geh leene sarabas dheene aapeh aap milaiaa ||
ਕਰਤਾਰ ਨੇ ਮੇਰੀ ਬਾਂਹ ਫੜ ਕੇ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਅਪਣਾ ਬਣਾ ਲਿਆ, ਮੈਨੂੰ ਆਪਣਾ ਨਾਮ ਰੂਪੀ ਸਭ ਕੁਝ (ਸਰਬਸੁ) ਦੇ ਦਿੱਤਾ, ਅਤੇ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਆਪਣੇ ਆਪ ਵਿੱਚ ਹੀ ਅਭੇਦ ਕਰ ਲਿਆ (ਮਿਲਾ ਲਿਆ) ॥
The Divine took hold of my hand and made me His own, blessed me with everything (His ultimate wealth in the form of the Divine Name), and completely merged me into His very Own Self.
ਕਹੁ ਨਾਨਕ ਸਰਬ ਥੋਕ ਪੂਰਨ ਪੂਰਾ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੁ ਪਾਇਆ ॥੪॥੧੫॥੭੯॥
kahu naanak sarab thok pooran pooraa satigur paiaa ||4||15||79||
ਪੰਜਵੇ ਨਾਨਕ ਆਖਦੇ ਹਨ — ਜਿਸ ਜੀਵ ਨੂੰ ਪੂਰਾ ਸਤਿਗੁਰ (ਸਦੀਵੀਂ ਸੱਚ) ਮਿਲ ਪਿਆ ਹੈ, ਉਸ ਦੇ ਸਾਰੇ ਕਾਰਜ (ਸੰਸਾਰਿਕ ਅਤੇ ਪਰਮਾਰਥਿਕ) ਪੂਰਨ ਤੌਰ 'ਤੇ ਸਫ਼ਲ ਹੋ ਗਏ ਹਨ ॥
The Fifth Nanak says — the being who has met the Perfect Satgur (eternal truth), all of their affairs (worldly and spiritual) have become completely successful.

ਗਰੀਬੀ ਗਦਾ ਹਮਾਰੀ ॥
gareebee gadhaa hamaaree ||
ਖੰਨਾ ਸਗਲ ਰੇਨੁ ਛਾਰੀ ॥
kha(n)naa sagal ren chhaaree ||
ਇਸੁ ਆਗੈ ਕੋ ਨ ਟਿਕੈ ਵੇਕਾਰੀ ॥
eis aagai ko na Tikai vekaaree ||
ਗੁਰ ਪੂਰੇ ਏਹ ਗਲ ਸਾਰੀ ॥੧॥

ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਸੰਤਨ ਕੀ ਓਟਾ ॥
har har naam sa(n)tan kee oTaa ||
ਜੋ ਸਿਮਰੈ ਤਿਸ ਕੀ ਗਤਿ ਹੋਵੈ ਉਧਰਹਿ ਸਗਲੇ ਕੋਟਾ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
jo simarai tis kee gat hovai udhareh sagale koTaa ||1|| rahaau ||
ਸੰਤ ਸੰਗਿ ਜਸੁ ਗਾਇਆ ॥
sa(n)t sa(n)g jas gaiaa ||
ਇਹੁ ਪੂਰਨ ਹਰਿ ਧਨੁ ਪਾਇਆ ॥

ਕਹੁ ਨਾਨਕ ਆਪੁ ਮਿਟਾਇਆ ॥

ਗੁਰਿ ਪੂਰੈ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਕਰਿ ਦੀਨੀ ਵਿਰਲੈ ਕਿਨ ਹੀ ਜਾਤੀ ॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥

ਗੁਰਬਾਣੀ ਗਾਵਹ ਭਾਈ ॥

ਨਾਨਕ ਨਾਮੁ ਧਿਆਇਆ ॥
