ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਬੂੰਦ ਭਏ ਹਰਿ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਹਮ ਚਾਤ੍ਰਿਕ ਬਿਲਲ ਬਿਲਲਾਤੀ ॥
har har boo(n)dh bhe har suaamee ham chaatirak bilal bilalaatee ||
ਹਰ ਪਾਸੇ, ਹਰ ਜ਼ੱਰੇ ਦੇ ਪ੍ਰਾਣ ਦਾਤੇ! ਤੂੰ ਮੇਰੇ ਚਾਤ੍ਰਿਕ ਵਾਂਗ, ਤੇਰੇ ਨਾਮ ਬੂੰਦ ਦੀ ਪਿਆਸ ਵਿੱਚ, ਤੜਫ ਅਤੇ ਪੁਕਾਰ ਰਹੇ ਜਨ ਦੀ ਅਰਦਾਸ ਸੁਣ।
O Giver of life to everything in every atom across the universe! Please listen to the prayer of this servant, who is crying out and writhing in agony, thirsting for the raindrop of Your Name, just like the Chatrik (the rainbird).
ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਕ੍ਰਿਪਾ ਕਰਹੁ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਅਪਨੀ ਮੁਖਿ ਦੇਵਹੁ ਹਰਿ ਨਿਮਖਾਤੀ ॥੧॥
har har kirapaa karahu prabh apanee mukh dhevahu har nimakhaatee ||1||
ਹੇ ਹਰ ਜਗਤ ਸੁਆਮੀ! ਤੂੰ ਆਪਣੀ ਮਿਹਰ ਧਾਰ, ਤੇ ਇਕ ਮੁਹਤ (ਛਿਨ) ਲਈ ਮੇਰੇ ਮੂੰਹ ਵਿੱਚ ਆਪਣੇ ਨਾਮ ਦੀ ਕਣੀ ਪਾ।
O omnipresent Lord of the universe! Please bestow Your mercy, and place the drop of Your Divine Name into my mouth, even if only for a single instant.
ਹਰਿ ਬਿਨੁ ਰਹਿ ਨ ਸਕਉ ਇਕ ਰਾਤੀ ॥
har bin reh na sakau ik raatee ||
ਜੀਵਨ ਨੂੰ ਹਰਿਆ ਭਰਿਆ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਲੇ ਦਾਤੇ, ਤੇਰੇ ਬਗੈਰ ਮੈਂ ਇੱਕ ਛਿਨ ਭਰ ਭੀ ਰਹਿ ਨਹੀਂ ਸਕਦਾ।
O Giver who makes life blossom and turn green! Without You, I cannot survive even for a single instant.
ਜਿਉ ਬਿਨੁ ਅਮਲੈ ਅਮਲੀ ਮਰਿ ਜਾਈ ਹੈ ਤਿਉ ਹਰਿ ਬਿਨੁ ਹਮ ਮਰਿ ਜਾਤੀ ॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
jiau bin amalai amalee mar jaiee hai tiau har bin ham mar jaatee || rahaau ||
ਜਿਸ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਅਮਲ ਖਾਣ ਦਾ ਆਦੀ, ਅਮਲ ਦੇ ਬਗੈਰ ਤੜਫ ਤੜਫ ਮਰਦਾ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ, ਓਸੇ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਹੀ ਮੈਂ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੇ ਬਾਝੋਂ ਮਰ ਮੁਕ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹਾਂ। ਠਹਿਰਾਓ।
Just as an addict who is dependent on an intoxicant writhes in agony and dies without it, in the exact same way, I wither and die without my Lord. Pause (Rahaao).
ਤੁਮ ਹਰਿ ਸਰਵਰ ਅਤਿ ਅਗਾਹ ਹਮ ਲਹਿ ਨ ਸਕਹਿ ਅੰਤੁ ਮਾਤੀ ॥
tum har saravar at agaeh ham leh na sakeh a(n)t maatee ||
ਏਹ ਹਰ ਪਾਸੇ ਫੈਲਿਆ ਹੋਇਆ ਸੰਸਾਰ ਰੂਪੀ ਸਾਗਰ, ਜਿਸ ਵਿੱਚ ਤੂੰ ਰਮਿਆ ਹੋਇਆ ਹੈਂ, ਮੈਂ ਅਪਣੇ ਜ਼ੋਰ ਤੇ ਇਸ ਸੰਸਾਰ ਸਾਗਰ ਦਾ ਅੰਤ ਨਹੀਂ ਜਾਣ ਸਕਦਾ।
The ocean of the world, in which You are permeating—I cannot discover the limits of this world-ocean by my own power.
ਤੂ ਪਰੈ ਪਰੈ ਅਪਰੰਪਰੁ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਮਿਤਿ ਜਾਨਹੁ ਆਪਨ ਗਾਤੀ ॥੨॥
too parai parai apara(n)par suaamee mit jaanahu aapan gaatee ||2||
ਤੂੰ ਪਰੇ ਤੋਂ ਪਰੇ ਹੈਂ, ਪੂਰਣ ਆਤਮ ਨਿਰਭਰ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਹੈਂ! ਤੇਰੇ ਤੋਂ ਬਣ ਰਹੇ ਪਸਾਰਿਆਂ ਦੀ ਗਿਣਤੀ ਮਿਣਤੀ ਤੂੰ ਹੀ ਜਾਣਦਾ ਹੈਂ ॥ ਤੈਨੂੰ ਜਾਣ ਵਾਲਾ ਮਾਰਗ ਅਤੇ ਤੂੰ ਆਪ ਵੀ, ਕਿਰਪਾ ਕਰ ਕੇ ਪਲ ਚਪਕਣ ਤੋਂ ਵੀ ਘੱਟ ਸਮੇਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਤੇਜ਼ ਗਤੀ ਨਾਲ ਪ੍ਰਗਟ ਹੋ ਕੇ, ਅਪਣੇ ਸੱਚੇ ਗੁਰਸਿੱਖ ਭਗਤਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਮਿਲ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈਂ।
You are beyond the beyond, the completely self-reliant Master! Only You know the measure and count of the vast creation expanding from You. The path leading to You, as well as You Yourself, mercifully manifest with immense speed and swiftness—in less than the blink of an eye—to unite with Your true Gursikh devotees.
ਹਰਿ ਕੇ ਸੰਤ ਜਨਾ ਹਰਿ ਜਪਿਓ ਗੁਰ ਰੰਗਿ ਚਲੂਲੈ ਰਾਤੀ ॥
har ke sa(n)t janaa har japio gur ra(n)g chaloolai raatee ||
ਸਰਬ ਵਿਆਪਕ ਦੇ ਭਗਤ ਜਨ, ਸੰਤਾਂ ਨੇ ਉਹਦਾ ਸਤਗੁਰ ਸ਼ਬਦ ਜਪ ਕਰ ਕੇ, ਉਹਦੇ ਗੂੜ੍ਹੇ ਲਾਲ ਰੰਗ ਰੱਤੇ ਗਏ, ਭਾਵ ਰੰਗੇ ਗਏ।
The devotees and saints of the All-Pervading Lord, by meditating on the True Word, have become deeply imbued in the vibrant crimson color—meaning they are completely color-washed in the ecstasy of Divine Love.
ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਭਗਤਿ ਬਨੀ ਅਤਿ ਸੋਭਾ ਹਰਿ ਜਪਿਓ ਊਤਮ ਪਾਤੀ ॥੩॥
har har bhagat banee at sobhaa har japio uootam paatee ||3||
ਪਰਮ ਪ੍ਰਭਤਾ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦੀ ਹੈ, ਸੁਆਮੀ ਕਰਤਾਰ ਦੇ ਅਨੁਰਾਗੀ ਦੀ। ਮਾਲਕ ਦਾ ਚਿੰਤਨ ਕਰਨ ਦੁਆਰਾ ਉਹ ਸ੍ਰੇਸ਼ਟ ਇਜ਼ਤ ਆਬਰੂ ਨੂੰ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ।
The supreme glory and grandeur manifest for the lover of the Lord. Through contemplation and remembrance of the Master, they attain the highest honor, dignity, and spiritual renown.
ਆਪੇ ਠਾਕੁਰੁ ਆਪੇ ਸੇਵਕੁ ਆਪਿ ਬਨਾਵੈ ਭਾਤੀ ॥
aape Thaakur aape sevak aap banaavai bhaatee ||
ਅਕਾਲ ਪੁਰਖ ਕਰਤਾਰ ਆਪ ਮਾਲਕ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਆਪ ਹੀ ਦਾਸ ॥ ਉਹ ਆਪੇ ਹੀ ਆਪਣੀ ਸੇਵਾ ਦਾ ਵਾਤਾਵਰਣ ਰਚ ਦਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ।
The Timeless Creator Himself is the Master, and Himself the servant; He Himself creates the divine atmosphere and circumstances for His own service.
ਨਾਨਕੁ ਜਨੁ ਤੁਮਰੀ ਸਰਣਾਈ ਹਰਿ ਰਾਖਹੁ ਲਾਜ ਭਗਾਤੀ ॥੪॥੫॥
naanak jan tumaree saranaiee har raakhahu laaj bhagaatee ||4||5||
ਨਾਨਕ ਜੀ ਕਿਹੰਦੇ ਹਨ ਕਿ ਗੁਰਸਿੱਖ ਭਗਤ ਜਨ ਤੇਰੀ ਸ਼ਰਨ ਵਿੱਚ ਆਏ ਹਨ! ਹੁਣ ਸੇਵਕ ਭਗਤਾਂ ਦੀ ਇੱਜ਼ਤ ਅਤੇ ਆਬਰੂ ਨੂੰ ਤੂੰ ਆਪ ਬਰਕਰਾਰ ਰੱਖ।
Guru Nanak Ji says, the Gursikh devotees have sought Your sanctuary! Now, please protect and preserve the honor, dignity, and grace of Your servant-devotees Yourself.
ਧਨਾਸਰੀ ਮਹਲਾ ੪ ॥
dhanaasaree mahalaa chauthhaa ||
ਕਲਿਜੁਗ ਕਾ ਧਰਮੁ ਕਹਹੁ ਤੁਮ ਭਾਈ ਕਿਵ ਛੂਟਹ ਹਮ ਛੁਟਕਾਕੀ ॥
kalijug kaa dharam kahahu tum bhaiee kiv chhooTeh ham chhuTakaakee ||
ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਜਪੁ ਬੇੜੀ ਹਰਿ ਤੁਲਹਾ ਹਰਿ ਜਪਿਓ ਤਰੈ ਤਰਾਕੀ ॥੧॥
har har jap beRee har tulahaa har japio tarai taraakee ||1||
ਹਰਿ ਜੀ ਲਾਜ ਰਖਹੁ ਹਰਿ ਜਨ ਕੀ ॥
har jee laaj rakhahu har jan kee ||
ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਜਪਨੁ ਜਪਾਵਹੁ ਅਪਨਾ ਹਮ ਮਾਗੀ ਭਗਤਿ ਇਕਾਕੀ ॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
har har japan japaavahu apanaa ham maagee bhagat ikaakee || rahaau ||
ਹਰਿ ਕੇ ਸੇਵਕ ਸੇ ਹਰਿ ਪਿਆਰੇ ਜਿਨ ਜਪਿਓ ਹਰਿ ਬਚਨਾਕੀ ॥
har ke sevak se har piaare jin japio har bachanaakee ||
ਲੇਖਾ ਚਿਤ੍ਰ ਗੁਪਤਿ ਜੋ ਲਿਖਿਆ ਸਭ ਛੂਟੀ ਜਮ ਕੀ ਬਾਕੀ ॥੨॥
lekhaa chitr gupat jo likhiaa sabh chhooTee jam kee baakee ||2||
ਹਰਿ ਕੇ ਸੰਤ ਜਪਿਓ ਮਨਿ ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਲਗਿ ਸੰਗਤਿ ਸਾਧ ਜਨਾ ਕੀ ॥
har ke sa(n)t japio man har har lag sa(n)gat saadh janaa kee ||
ਦਿਨੀਅਰੁ ਸੂਰੁ ਤ੍ਰਿਸਨਾ ਅਗਨਿ ਬੁਝਾਨੀ ਸਿਵ ਚਰਿਓ ਚੰਦੁ ਚੰਦਾਕੀ ॥੩॥
dhineear soor tirasanaa agan bujhaanee siv chario cha(n)dh cha(n)dhaakee ||3||
ਤੁਮ ਵਡ ਪੁਰਖ ਵਡ ਅਗਮ ਅਗੋਚਰ ਤੁਮ ਆਪੇ ਆਪਿ ਅਪਾਕੀ ॥
tum vadd purakh vadd agam agochar tum aape aap apaakee ||
ਜਨ ਨਾਨਕ ਕਉ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਕੀਜੈ ਕਰਿ ਦਾਸਨਿ ਦਾਸ ਦਸਾਕੀ ॥੪॥੬॥
jan naanak kau prabh kirapaa keejai kar dhaasan dhaas dhasaakee ||4||6||
ਧਨਾਸਰੀ ਮਹਲਾ ੪ ਘਰੁ ੫ ਦੁਪਦੇ
dhanaasaree mahalaa chauthhaa ghar panjavaa dhupadhe
ੴ ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਪ੍ਰਸਾਦਿ ॥

ਉਰ ਧਾਰਿ ਬੀਚਾਰਿ ਮੁਰਾਰਿ ਰਮੋ ਰਮੁ ਮਨਮੋਹਨ ਨਾਮੁ ਜਪੀਨੇ ॥
aur dhaar beechaar muraar ramo ram manmohan naam japeene ||
ਅਦ੍ਰਿਸਟੁ ਅਗੋਚਰੁ ਅਪਰੰਪਰ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਗੁਰਿ ਪੂਰੈ ਪ੍ਰਗਟ ਕਰਿ ਦੀਨੇ ॥੧॥
adhirasaT agochar apara(n)par suaamee gur poorai pragaT kar dheene ||1||
ਰਾਮ ਪਾਰਸ ਚੰਦਨ ਹਮ ਕਾਸਟ ਲੋਸਟ ॥
raam paaras cha(n)dhan ham kaasaT losaT ||
ਹਰਿ ਸੰਗਿ ਹਰੀ ਸਤਸੰਗੁ ਭਏ ਹਰਿ ਕੰਚਨੁ ਚੰਦਨੁ ਕੀਨੇ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
har sa(n)g haree satasa(n)g bhe har ka(n)chan cha(n)dhan keene ||1|| rahaau ||
ਨਵ ਛਿਅ ਖਟੁ ਬੋਲਹਿ ਮੁਖ ਆਗਰ ਮੇਰਾ ਹਰਿ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਇਵ ਨ ਪਤੀਨੇ ॥
nav chhia khaT boleh mukh aagar meraa har prabh iv na pateene ||
ਜਨ ਨਾਨਕ ਹਰਿ ਹਿਰਦੈ ਸਦ ਧਿਆਵਹੁ ਇਉ ਹਰਿ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਮੇਰਾ ਭੀਨੇ ॥੨॥੧॥੭॥
