ੴ Satigur Prasad.

O Brother! The Lord is merciful to the meek and the poor; joining His company, let us sing the Name of the Lord.

O Brother! Joining the holy company of seekers (the society of the GurSikhs), let us sing the Name of the Lord.

By meditating upon the name of the One in the company of the Holy, the suffering of birth and death is eliminated.

According to the pre-destined ledger of Divine Grace written from the Lord's Court, one receives the understanding of Truth, and the noose of Death (the messengers of illusion/Maya) is severed.

(Through the meditation of the Divine Name), fears and doubts flee, the knots of worldly attachments are broken, and the devotee (Gurmukh) never steps onto the path of Death of messanger at all.

Nanak's prayer is—O Lord! Shower Your Grace upon me, so that I may forever sing Your praises and adopt virtues.

O Brother! The sole anchor for the shelterless is the One Name alone, upon which there is no stain or blemish (Immaculate).

O Lord! You alone are the Supreme Giver of all blessings, and You are the absolute Destroyer of all pain and suffering.

O Brother! The mortal who comes to the sanctuary of the Lord — the Master of all joys dispels all the sufferings of that mortal.

The ocean of this world (Maya) is a very difficult journey, which the Lord, through His grace, helps us cross over in a single moment.

O Brother! That Lord is fully permeating all places (omnipresent), but to behold Him, the collyrium of the Divine Name given by the Lord is required in the eyes.

Nanak prays—O Brother! We should forever meditate upon the Divine Name, which is the destroyer of all sufferings, afflictions, and all fears (of death and illusion/Maya).

The Lord Himself, out of His infinite Grace, attaches mortals to the hem of His robe (and connects them to the Divine Name).

O Lord! I am a virtueless, lowly, and helpless soul. You are (considered) inaccessible and boundless. Shower Your Grace upon me.

O Brother! The Lord is forever Merciful and Gracious, and His divine nature is such that He bestows honor even upon the lowly and helpless beings.

All living beings and creatures are completely under Your control (Divine Will), and You alone are the Sustainer and Caretaker of everyone.

O Brother! The Lord Himself is the maker of everything, He Himself permeates all beings to enjoy all worldly pleasures, and He Himself sits within every heart to contemplate all thoughts.

Nanak prays—O Brother! I live only by singing the praises of the Lord of the Universe, and I continually chant the meditative Name of the Divine Master.

O Divine, Your potential is infinite and boundless, and Your Name is priceless beyond measure.

O Immeasurable, All-Pervading Divine Lord, Your humble servants ever meditate upon You.

When the Divine Lord becomes merciful toward His saints, He causes them to chant His Name, and the saints become completely absorbed and intoxicated in this divine nectar.

Those with great spiritual destiny are connected to the Feet (Name) of Prabhu, and by the virtue of this Divine Name, they completely awaken from the slumber of worldly illusion (Maya).

They (the fortunate devotees) always meditate upon the Name of Prabhu, and with each and every breath of their lives, they sing His Glorious Praises.

Guru Nanak Dev Ji prays, O Lord! Please bless me with the dust of the feet (the holy congregation) of Your saints, so that I may attain Your priceless Divine Name.
