Those Gursikhs who meditate on the Lord's Name are highly fortunate and blessed.

Servant Nanak always sacrifices himself to those Gurmukhs who meditate on the Divine Name.

By seeking the Divine's shelter, the companions of the holy congregation become pleasing to the Lord.

Robed in celestial honor within the Divine Court, the Lord enfolds them in His eternal embrace, merging them into His own Light.

Those Gursikhs who meditate on the Divine Name (chant the Name)—the Lord blesses them with the deep realization and understanding of the Name.

May I wash the feet of those Name-meditating Gurmukhs (perform their service), and drink in the sacred dust of their feet (meaning, pay them my utmost respect).

Those self-willed who remain engrossed only in worldly pleasures, chewing betel nuts and placing betel-leaf rolls into their mouths (meaning, those who stay entirely immersed in physical adornments and mundane sensory pleasures).

Those who (becoming trapped in worldly pleasures) never contemplated the Divine Name within their hearts—at the final moment, the 'Messenger of Death' seizes them and drives them away.

Those Gursikhs who have enshrined the True Guru's Name within their hearts and embraced it within their minds (inner self)—the Messenger of Death does not even draw near those beloveds of the Lord.

The Word (Name of the Lord) is that treasure whose secret can only be understood by one who turns toward the Creator (one who attains the understanding of the Divine Name).

O Nanak! Those who attain the realization of the Eternal Truth, merge into the love of that Lord, become liberated from the shackles of Maya (worldly illusion), and enjoy the true and eternal peace of life in accordance with the Divine Will.

The Eternal Truth alone is the greatest Giver, who, being pleased, bestows His Grace upon the mortal and unites them with Himself.

I am forever a sacrifice to the Master, who has blessed me with the Divine Name.

Blessed and acclaimed is that Guru (guide), who delivers the Lord's message.

I am immensely joyful by having the blessed vision of that true guru (guide), who has shown me the path to seeking the True Lord.

Now my tongue is attuned to the contemplation of the Lord's Name, and singing His praises feels truly beautiful and sweet.

Those seekers blessed with the secret of Naam live in harmony with the Divine Will; by Grace, all their worldly hungers vanish forever.

What is said to be the path to the Lord? Tell me, by what means or method can we walk upon this path?

Your Name alone is the sacred path to true liberation, and one can only move forward on this journey by gathering and carrying the capital (wealth) of Your Name as sustenance.

Those who have contemplated the Lord's Name become liberated from the worldly illusions and wanderings, transforming into true sovereigns who are accepted and approved by the Divine.

I am forever a sacrifice to such the True Lord, in whose sacred words (Naam/Shabad) my ego and self have completely merged.

You are the Master, my Lord and Master; You alone are my Ruler and King.

If it pleases Your Will, then I worship and serve You; You are the profound treasure of all virtues.

The Lord Himself is the One, yet He Himself appears in the world in countless, transient, and microscopic forms.

O Nanak, whatever pleases His Will, that alone is good and beneficial.

O mind! If you wish to connect and align with the Divine Truth, then contemplate and meditate upon the Lord night and day.

Moment by fleeting moment, the sands of life slip away, just as water slowly and silently leaks from a cracked vessel.

Why do you not sing the Praises of the Lord, O foolish and ignorant mortal?

Entangled in these false greeds (the web of illusions), the mortal completely forgets their own mortality.

O sibling! Even now, nothing is lost if you will only begin to contemplate and sing the praises of the Lord.

O Nanak! Through the meditation of Naam, by tuning yourself to the Fearless One, you will attain the state of absolute fearlessness; liberated from the web of worldly illusions, you will find total freedom from all anxiety and dread of the mind.

O mind! Wake up and realize your true purpose; you are sleeping so carelessly in the deep slumber of worldly illusions.

The very body that was born with you on the day of your birth will not accompany you in the end. Why, then, do you take pride in the world's false relationships and fleeting wealth? Pause and reflect.

Mother, father, children and relatives—with whom you have established such deep love and affection

The very instant the breath of life departs from your body, they will immediately bear you away from the house to be consumed by the funeral fires. None will journey any further with you.
